Keep New Zealand Beautiful Week 2011
Roll your sleeves up and join the rest of New Zealand preparing to welcome our RWC 2011 guests, by making the country look beautiful before, during and after the Tournament.
Kiwis across Aotearoa are invited to get on board for Keep New Zealand Beautiful Week 2011 (20 to 27 August 2011), to help ensure we live up to our ‘clean, green’ image of our worldwide viewers and travellers when New Zealand is on show during RWC 2011.
Last year over 261,000 people participated from Kaitaia to Bluff – and this year we need even more! Get your whanau, school, business, or community group together and pencil in a date to clean up your community – Keep New Zealand Beautiful will provide everything you need, just contact www.knzb.org.nz in July when registrations go live.
Additionally, in the lead up for Keep New Zealand Beautiful Week 2011 and before the end of Term Two, schools are being encouraged to take part in Keep New Zealand Beautiful’s mural competition “Wall Worthy” where students and schools from across the country can submit ideas/designs on what makes their community stand out from the rest. A winner will be selected from each region chosen by a panel of judges and voted for by the rest of the country, who will get to bring their mural design to life in their own community. As well as loads of awesome spot prizes from Panasonic along the way, this is your chance to show the rest of New Zealand what makes your Town or City “Wall Worthy”!
Keep your eyes peeled to www.knzb.org.nz for everything you need to know about taking part in our ‘Wall Worthy’ competition, getting involved in Keep New Zealand Beautiful Week 2011 and for lots more inspiring information and activities!
