How to decorate your street
It's easy. All you need are flags, banners, bunting and a little creativity. Here's a few ideas to get you going...
- Get hold and hang RWC 2011 Flag Bunting all over your house, fence and garage
- Hang country flags for teams that you've adopted
- Hang streamers and balloons
- Hang Coloured lights
- Dress up mascots in country colours (e.g. dress up brown teddy bears in Russian colours) - get your gear at the RWC shop
- Adopt a second team by hanging signs and banners (e.g. paint ‘welcome’ in the languages of the visiting countries)
- Paint fences and letterboxes in country colours and emblems (ask mum and dad first!)
- Decorate your garden with country themes and plant flowers in different spring colours
- Hold your own street party for the photo shoot – e.g. dress up in Namibian Dress, serve Namibian food or and invite all your other neighbours
- Make wreaths for your door e.g. French themed – make it with baguettes and pastries
Get the kids involved too
