Taranaki International Village
Add to my REAL NZ Festival trip planner Added to your REAL NZ Festival trip plannerThe Taranaki International Village showcases the region's diverse multi-ethnic communities and its proud Māori heritage, through a wide range of culturally-based stalls, activities and workshops.
The Village provides an opportunity for you to experience the legendary hospitality and culture of Taranaki Māori, discover the region’s customs and cultures and sample the sights, sounds, flavours and colours of Taranaki.
Based on the great success of a similar village at Taranaki’s annual WOMAD Festival, the International Village encompasses quality Māori art, crafts and apparel, food, performances, workshops, traditional ceremonies and local tourism products and operators at the easily-accessible Puke Ariki Landing in New Plymouth.
Performers will showcase the abundance of local Taranaki talent, and include various cultural acts, from Irish dancers to Indian classical performers to Singaporean belly dancers. Special guest performers will be the US Marine Corp Band from Hawaii!
