Add to my REAL NZ Festival trip planner Added to your REAL NZ Festival trip plannerTaranaki's Xtreme Raceday is a special New Zealand horse racing event featuring New Zealand's longest flat race — a test of speed, stamina and the skill of the jockey in determining when to hold the horse back or drive it to go faster.
Alongside this, other novelty, RWC-themed thoroughbred races will be held, so if you're in town supporting your nation's team, here's another great opportunity to fly your flag.
This is a day for some lively entertainment and fun at the racetrack so join the locals at Pukekura Raceway with its beautiful natural surroundings, excellent facilities and just two minutes' drive from the centre of New Plymouth.
