Add to my REAL NZ Festival trip planner Added to your REAL NZ Festival trip plannerMandeville Airfield, near Gore, is New Zealand's oldest aerodrome and has a focus on planes from the 1930s era, especially the popular de Havilland aircraft.
The Croydon Aircraft Company, based at the airfield, specialises in the manufacturing and restoration of de Havilland and vintage aircraft, and when you visit you can watch the craftsmen at work.
For those seeking a thrill, take to the skies in a Tiger Moth or, for the more daring, an adrenalin-filled acrobatic joy ride is an unforgettable experience.
