Queens Wharf

Auckland’s Queens Wharf will be the heart of Rugby World Cup celebrations in 2011.

As well as being party central during the tournament, the site is being developed into an international cruise ship terminal.

The Government and Auckland Regional Council each invested $20 million in a deal to purchase the significant harbour side asset from Ports of Auckland.

The investment is part of the Government’s long-term development plan for Auckland’s waterfront, which will see the area transformed into a world-class public space for future generations of New Zealanders.
