Rugby World Cup 2011 in New Zealand - A Guide to the Major Events Management Act 2007

April 22, 2010

Guidelines have today been released to help New Zealand businesses get to grips with the Major Events Management Act and how it will impact what they can do around Rugby World Cup 2011 (RWC 2011).

Rugby World Cup 2011 in New Zealand - A Guide to the Major Events Management Act 2007 is a joint project between Rugby World Cup Limited - a subsidiary of the International Rugby Board which owns the event - and New Zealand’s Ministry of Economic Development.

It provides general guidance on how the Major Events Management Act (MEMA) will work to both ensure the smooth running of RWC 2011 and protect it from commercial exploitation. It also includes information on protected RWC emblems and words.
