The Government has invested $190 million in redeveloping Eden Park into a world class venue.  New Zealand’s bid to host the 2011 Rugby World Cup relied heavily on a commitment to upgrade the home of Auckland rugby.

The redevelopment, due for completion in October 2010, will see Eden Park’s capacity increased to 60,000, making it a valuable piece of the country’s events infrastructure, and an attractive venue for future major events.
